Air Pollution
Air pollution is generated by factories, dirty power plants, and waste buildings. It is also
generated along the roads based on the amount of vehicle traffic.
generated along the roads based on the amount of vehicle traffic.
Air pollution makes residents sick, which prevents them from going to work.
Reduce the pollution generated by factories by covering them with community college and
research center auras.
Reduce the pollution generated by power plants by switching to clean power, or by placing a
carbon capture building near your dirty power plants.
Reduce the pollution generated by waste buildings by covering your city with recycling bins and
recycling plants so they generate less garbage. Increasing education will also reduce garbage
production.
Reduce air pollution from traffic by placing bus stops around your city, so people take transit
instead of driving. Increasing education in residential areas will also reduce the air pollution
from traffic.

Finally, reduce air pollution in a small area by placing Nature Parks.
Water Pollution
Pollution enters the water system when a water tower, pump or station is placed over a polluted
area.
The pollution is then distributed to all buildings that receive water from that source, making
residents sick.
The best way to prevent water pollution is by not placing your water buildings over pollution!
If that’s not possible, place enough Nature Parks directly next to the water buildings, or place a
Water Treatment Plant.
Some high-level water buildings may also filter out almost all of the pollution, but they are very
expensive.
