People can take up jobs or go shopping anywhere in the city, but how they go there is up to you and how you’ve built your city.
Citizens who have a lot of shopping or jobs within walking distance, which is about two and a half road grid nodes in each direction, will prefer to walk rather then drive.
If they do decide to drive, then the number of cars on the road will increase between residences and their destination, and they will prioritize higher-capacity roads over lower-capacity streets.
Bus stops need to be placed near residences, workplaces and shops in order to work. Use the range indicator when placing a bus stop to see which buildings will be able to send and receive passengers.
They transform some of the road traffic into bus traffic, dramatically reducing traffic and air pollution emission.
